New Mexico Trip

The youth from First Baptist Hewitt went to Glorieta, New Mexico for summer camp this year. Greerson went on the bus with them and then Daryl left on Wednesday and headed to Lubbock and visited with his nephew B.J. and his wife Alicia. Thursday morning he got up and headed to Farwell, Texas and visited the Elementary school where he attended first grade and third through fifth grade. It also was where his Mother taught when they lived in Clovis. After a short visit there he headed on to Clovis and stopped at Cooks Truck stop and got fuel and ice and met Dawn Boney for a short visit. He then went by the Pile street house where he grew up and checked out the neighborhood. Then he headed over to Aucutt's Paint Store to visit with Latisha (Tisha) Aucutt Brothers. They have known each other since they were in 2nd grade in Mrs. Nuchols room at Highland Elementary. After a trip down memory lane, Daryl headed over to Taco Box for lunch then headed for Santa Fe. He got to the Santa Fe KOA and got setup. Friday he headed to Glorieta and met up with the youth and worked out the arrangements for later that night. When he got back to the KOA the water was out. Apparently there was a pump in the town or couty that went out and nobody had water. They gave him a gallon of water and he survived. He picked up Greerson and went to worship at Glorieta. They got back to the campsite around 1am. Saturday they drove to Canyon, Texas and saw the musical production of TEXAS. It was great! They have updated it a little, but it still was amazing to watch. They stopped in Lubbock and had lunch with BJ and Alica and their family and then stopped in Brownwood at Underswoods and ate and picked up some BBQ for Christa.
