The Worley family suffered a great loss Thursday September 29, 2011. AT Worley went home to be with Jesus and the rest of his family. He was such a valiant leader to his brothers and the rest of the family. He was a Baptist minister in Virginia and then in Arizona before he retired. His wife Lynn taught school and is a fantastic aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Ladson Worley (Daryl's Dad) looked up to his older brother and never forgot his generousity to him. When he was in college and got married to Daryl's mother, Billie, AT gave him his car so that they would have transportation. That car brought many funny stories and became a member of the Ladson Worley family.
We got to visit AT and Lynn on our California trip a few years ago. They were the picture of hospitality. They took us to see the Casa Grande National Monument and Lynn cooked fabulous meals while we were there.

The celebration after beating TCU
We have been able to go to all of the Baylor home games this Fall. The first one was very exciting against TCU then the next week they played Stephen F. Austin and it was an experience. We had a thunderstorm(the first since last spring). Two minutes before half-time lightning struck within 5 miles of the stadium so they delayed the game. We were at the top of the stadium close to the lightening rods (stadium light poles) so we took cover under the stands for a while then came back and sat with the church youth group. After they resumed play they announced that there would be no half-time and they would play two 12 minute quarters. It turned out that we stayed until about a minute before the end of the third quarter and there was a huge lightning strike that felt like it was right on top of the stadium. We left along with most of the other fans. As we were running to the car to try and beat the rain we heard them end the third quarter and call the game. The next week Baylor played Rice. It was cool because it was parents weekend and the band played to our side of the field. We sit on the student side so we never get to see the band facing us. It was really cool.
Greerson is loving going to the games and Christa joins us and stayed neutral until the Rice game then she had to wear her Aggie shirt to try and stir up trouble since Baylor sued to keep A & M in the Big 12.

Visiting with Grandma

We actually got to escape to the ranch for a weekend and relax. There were a pair of fawns who were in the front yard and Grandpa Woody shot a hog at 4am. It sounded like an explosion in our room. Our room is over the back porch at the sound echoed under there and under our heads. Needless to say it we had to go see what was happening. We had a good time, Greerson played games on his new laptop and we watched movies and played Mexican Train.

Greerson's Birthday

Greeson's Birthday Cake, notice the tools on the table we were finishing up the remodel of the back door.

Greerson became a teenager this year. We didn't have a big pary, but Christa's parents came by with a cake and a big surprise for Greerson. He got a two presents and opened the smaller one first.
The start of school was kind of crazy, but we all survived. Greerson is adapting to Middle School. He had a time with his lock on the locker, but he figured it out. If he can just figure out how to turn his homework in we will have peace at home again! He is currently first chair in the honors band playing trombone.
