In October the Thursday before Daryl had surgery on Tuesday we discovered that there was a slow leak under the kitchen sink. It had ruined the finish on the wood on the back of the bar in the kitchen. We managed to get an insurance adjustor out before the surgery, but didn't take time to contact a contractor to fix the damage until after Christmas. The following pictures show the progress and transformation of the kitchen.

This was the old cabinet as they were tearing it out.
The new cabinets in place without counter tops
Waiting for countertops
This was our makeshift kitchen, plywood countertop with the old microwave rigged to work and a dishpan for water since there is no faucet or sink now.
We raised the height of the bar about five inches, you can see the new sheet rock on the right to see the difference in height.
The new granite countertopsIt was so exciting to get the new granite.
The new sink looks great and gave us a place to put the dishpan until we got running water
The granite looks nice, but will look better with the backsplash
At this stage we have hope of having a completed kitchen soon
This is the completed kitchen. We are still moving back in, but it is all functionalIt is so exciting to have a faucet in the sink again!
This is the new microwave/convection oven
The backsplash is glass tile and natural stone, the glass does not show very well in the picture.
We were very fortunate to only be out of the kitchen about two weeks. We are still in the process of moving back into the cabinets, but to have a fully functioning kitchen is exciting.
This is a "selfie" I took last week at the Honda dealership while I was waiting on Christa's car. I am losing weight weekly and constantly changing sizes. I donated a huge garbage bag full of clothes this morning.
Greerson helped to pass out the awards at Troop 377's Court of Honor in January. He has been planning his Eagle project and is working toward completing it later this spring.
