We went to Galveston the second weekend in August with the Shultz family and rented a condo on the beach. We all had a great time. We played Mexican Train at night and played on the beach during the day. Marshall and Brenna were so excited to be near the gulf. There were some dead fish on the beach, but not so bad that it was a nusance. After we got home we heard there was a red tide warning along the coast. When we were there they just said it was the heat causing the fish to die. Apparently this happens each year. We went to lunch at Gaidos and sat at the biggest table I think they have. Some kind of Gulf Crab was in season so several enjoyed one of their favorite treats from the sea. Greerson and Daryl had their favorite treats from the ranch. They both ordered a steak! After lunch we drove around the island and looked at the new pleasure pier where the hotel on the water used to be. Then we headed to the east end of the island to look at the ships headed into the Houston ship channel. Then it was back to the condo for a game of a movie for the kids and a nap for the adults. After packing up the next day we stopped by the Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid and enjoyed the sea life on display. Then we headed home.
